The Clients of this period South London terraced house wanted to open up the ground floor living spaces, whilst reconnecting the core of the house to the sunny south facing garden.

By introducing a slot rooflight that wraps down towards the end elevation, and 3m high oak framed and glazed doors, the eating area would not only be visually connected with the outside growing spaces, but would also feel like you were sitting eating your meals in open air.

All glazing in The Garden Kitchen would be high performance energy rated, with the exposed internal brickwork and extensive wild flower roof acting as a thermal sink to carefully moderate the internal temperatures.

Fraher Architects provided a full RIBA Architectural Service.
